The New Work Nucleus (NWN)

According to a recent study by an American Multinational Technology company called Avaya, 72 percent of firms in the United States are rethinking how they operate. To boost employee collaboration and communication, businesses are rapidly adopting new technology.

The move to new digital tools and processes in the workplace, as represented in work stream collaboration technology, is described by a new phrase coined by Gartner: ‘The New Work Nucleus’. Gartner, Inc., a global leader in IT research, recently developed the term “new work nucleus” (NWN) to define what they see as an emerging phase of digital business. This notion straddles the line between business requirements and technology capabilities. Organizations that wish to stay current with digital workflow solutions must comprehend about this NWN and what it means for their business. From the growth of cloud-based office suites to work stream collaboration technologies, the NWN signifies the importance of how modern workplace functions. The new work nucleus brings together a number of technological breakthroughs that allow for completely new ways to commercial activity. Cloud and SaaS-based services have mostly supplanted on-premises solutions. Automation and artificial intelligence (AI) have been the key drivers in the work cycle since they streamline activities and replace manual efforts. Similarly, advanced data analytics has revolutionised the speed and variety of insights that workers can get from real-time or archived data.

The new work Nucleus is a new breed of cloud-based personal and workgroup productivity apps that are displacing older on premise alternatives. Content collaboration platform and collaborative work management are the major features of this NWN.The new work nucleus’s tools are constantly evolving. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all software to solve every issue. As a result, employees will have to use a variety of programmes to do their tasks. In a 2019 Slack research on app usage, 30% of 17,000 respondents stated they use six or more office apps. In the next five years, 77 percent of IT workers expect that number to climb. While these applications aid workers, they also introduce new issues. According to Gartner, the use of different applications makes it difficult for team members and supervisors to have a comprehensive and uniform perspective of current plans and the stage of execution of collaborative work when context and artefacts are involved. Switching between apps decreases productivity and makes collaboration more difficult. You’ll need a technology that combines workplace apps and decreases context switching to solve this problem: collaborative work management technologies.

While there are range of benefits in using NWN and CWM technologies, a company should also need to carefully address few governance issues such as common access to the applications, maintenance and storage of the generated content and other legal and compliance risks. But finally Businesses who use collaborative work management, on the other hand, will get the full benefits of the new style of working.
